The new residential building on Anna-Stockar-Weg stands as a balcony house in a clearing above the lake. The wooden building opens out on all sides onto a flower meadow. Gaps in the green border of trees provide glimpses of the lake and the landscape.

The apartments open out to the garden via L-shaped living and dining areas. The spatial form is generous yet clearly divided, allowing a balance between living and dinning with different furnishings and occupancies. Some bedrooms are directly adjacent to the living rooms and accessible via them, which in turn can be used not only for relaxation but for eating, entertainment or working. The bathrooms – which also form the sunny balcony spaces – are accessible via double folding doors.

The building consists of a sustainable timber-hybrid construction with poured-in-situ concrete cores, exposed stacked-board ceilings and hidden steel supports. The facade, composed of coloured photovoltaic elements, is feathered like a bird plumage, yet light and rooted in the ground.

The existing character of the tree-ringed meadow is preserved and enhanced. Perennials grow and bloom in the dappled shade beneath the trees. The base-level entrance is discreetly placed to harmonize with the idyllic setting. Amidst foliage and perennials, one has the feeling of living among the treetops, sharing them with the birds.
